Testimonials

"To Redcar Speedway Supporters Club(BSG). My sincere thanks for holding the Bruce Forrester Trophy again this season. Bruce would have been honoured that you still think so well of him. I'd also like to thank his mechanic, who presented the trophy in 2007, John Pollit travelled all over with Bruce and was also a good friend. Harry Atkinson who presented it this year, was also a good friend and Teesside Team Manager. We spent many Christmas's and holidays together with his wife June. Harry and John still support me now over the loss of Bruce. It's not been easy coming to terms with losing such a vibrant and dedicated man who loved his sport. We still have his bike and memorabilia of his riding days. It gives me great comfort seeing it every day. May the year 2009 bring you all good luck. Kindest Regards."

Linda Forrester.

"SPEEDWAY has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember - and, as I've said many times, if I wasn't reporting on the Bears for the Evening Gazette and gazettelive.co.uk, I'd be on the terraces as a fan.

And that's why I'm proud to be a member of the BSG. This a group which has the Bears and its loyal followers at heart and which plays an important role in furthering the club's interests. It's fun, it's friendly and it's a fabulously good way of helping the team."

Martin Neal, Evening Gazette and gazettelive speedway writer

“For me this meeting turned into something special by the many colorful, zany, enthusiastic good-natured Redcar fans - by far the best we've had at Armadale probably ever as far as I'm concerned. They were clearly out to have a good time and their good time turned into a good time for us all. I was sorry when it was over. What a credit they are to your club. I'm sure I've heard these songs and chants before but never sung with more gusto. Loved the colored wigs and the guy who was dressed up as Barney Rubble - what a hoot! Please come again guys....soon!”

Merlin, An Edinburgh Monarchs Fan

"But although tonight’s racing was brilliant, the real stars of the show were the wonderful Redcar Bears supporters. Their colorful, noisy support of their team and their fantastic good humor are a credit to themselves, their team and the sport of speedway. Cheers guys it was a privilege to once again share your company.
Overall it was one of the most enjoyable nights speedway I’ve had in many a year"

Paulco, A Glasgow Tigers Fan

"The atmosphere on the terracing was great with the Redcar fans being the best visiting fans I have encountered at the Dale. They were loud, boisterous and full of colour and fun.
Why can't it be like that every meeting?”

Midnight Lady, A Edinburgh Monarchs Fan

“My little girl was a mascot last night and she absolutely loved it.
She met Ty and although she was shy and hugely embarrassed he was great with her.
What a fantastic idea and opportunity for the kids. My other little girl can't wait, she's the opposite and very gobby, so god help Chris Kerr when it's her turn.
Thanks again, well worth the joining fee just for that."

Lisa Fleming, A Redcar Bears Fan

“the boys loved their time as mascots and I've got to say that the riders and certain members of the BSG who are involved with overseeing the kids special night, are absolutely fantastic with the kids
Keep up the good work people."

Shane Borwell, A Redcar Bears Fan

“Would just like to thank the members of the B.S.G on behalf of my son RYAN
He had a great time last week as mascot and thought TY was awesome
he would have sat on his bike all night had he been allowed."

Eric Buckton, A Redcar Bears Fan

"On to the Redcar Bears, they are a credit to the sport, plenty of support, fancy dress etc, which made this meeting as enjoyable as it was. Never once seen or heard any aggro or trouble which was great. They should be proud of the performance in which their team put in as they pushed til the very end."

Stoney=Legend, A Workington Comets Fan

"What a privelidge it was to be part of such a huge, jovial bunch of Bears fans on the back straight. We could still hear them singing from the first/second bend when we went to the burger van."

BoroBearBabe, A Redcar Bears Fan

"One of the best meetings of the season last night. When you see how many points our guest and R/R scored the lads did really well. The Redcar fans where a credit to their club, they really did make the atmosphere good last night. It was a pleasure to be there."

GM, Workington Comets Fan

"The general censensus from tonight was that we'd rather watch the Bears fans than the home riders!"

Arneig, Reading Racers Fan

"..WELL DONE THE BEARS... Just a shame the atmosphere wasn't better from the Diamonds fans, compared to the very good support of Redcar."

Abbott, Newcastle Diamonds Fan

"Redcar fans are brilliant in their support of their team, and im sure they will make you welcome if you go there in the future."

Mauger Magic, Newcastle Diamonds Fan

"I was in amongst the mad but generally very friendly Redcar fans. The Redcar fans sure bring colour when they visit, despite the result. A real good atmosphere."

Pammie, Edinburgh Monarchs Fan

"As for the travelling Redcar support, what can you say, 10/10 for humour and good spirit.......especially in the bar afterwards!"

Jammiedodger, Scunthorpe Scorpions Fan

"Tonight mate it was just great to be a speedway fan. The racing was brilliant, the atmosphere was brilliant. You had a group of noisy, good natured away fans who made it a wonderful occasion. Oh if only it could always be like this!"
